Supporting Social-Emotional Development for a Foundation of Learning

During this interactive workshop, we will discuss our significant role in a young child’s development and how it connects to social-emotional skills. We will consider brain development when defining ourselves as facilitators of social-emotional development and employ hands-on strategies that supports a child’s independence.

OBJECTIVES/LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Take back specific strategies to support social-emotional development in your learning environment.
     

  • Discover how your role as a child’s social-emotional facilitator builds a foundation for their future success.

Kids Count: Math Across the Curriculum


Come explore how to integrate hands-on math activities throughout your curriculum and learning environment. Developmentally appropriate strategies for learning centers, small groups, and transitions throughout the day will be considered. Among other areas, we will look at matching, classifying, patterning, sequencing, and geometry and how they can be used to engage children with authentic math experiences.

OBJECTIVES/LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Take back hands-on ideas to incorporate throughout your daily schedule.
     

  • Discover how to create a math-rich environment where children can meaningfully engage in math experiences.

2:00PM-3:30PM

Infant/Toddler Language and Literacy

Join Ron and take an in-depth look at the developmental progression of language and literacy of infants and toddlers. Develop specific strategies to nurture growth and identify milestones to better understand how to be intentional at different stages. We will see ourselves as a partner to a child’s learning so we can make choices that connect to children where they are.

OBJECTIVES/LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Apply strategies aligned to each child’s developmental progression.
     

  • Develop a language learning partnership with each child that matches their unique development.
