"I feel that I am an advocate for ECE professionals. I am a mentor to Columbus State Community College administrative students, a PD instructor, a CDA coach and a collaborator with other center directors in the pursuit of SUTQ rating. I want to continue my work on a state level. I also want to learn from the other members of the Board. I feel that I have much to offer but also much to learn.
I have been involved with Ohio AEYC in some capacity for over 15 years; either as a conference participant, conference presenter or following the work of the association.I am very passionate about serving the children and families in my community and I want to extend my scope of work and learn about new ways that I can direct my energy and talents for the advancement of early childhood practices statewide. I want to use data driven research to guide my instructional practices and to grow as a leader.
As an ECE professional, I have leaned on Ohio AEYC as a source of support for myself and for my staff. I feel that it is now time to offer my time to Ohio AEYC so that I may be of assistance to others.Personally, I feel that the most significant issue facing Ohio AEYC and its members is teacher retention. We must do more to hold on to competent, educated and experienced teachers by creating an environment for growth and development. A space where teachers are equipped with the tools they need to succeed and where they feel valued, both academically and financially. I am ready to do the work necessary to add value to the Ohio AEYC Board of Directors and to assist in the advancement of the work that you are already doing. "
