"One of the most significant issues facing Ohio AEYC, its members as well as all NAEYC members involves the status of early childhood education in the United States. Our profession faces continued challenges of low wages, high turnover rates and limited educational opportunities. Furthermore, few US policies acknowledge and support the importance of early childhood education for all young children.
As part of Ohio AEYC Board of Directors, I bring my expertise in research and teacher education of young children and their families who are from diverse socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds as well as from diverse ability levels.
I am passionate about advocating for developing a strong foundation in young children who will be our future leaders. Our members share this passion, as well. They are dedicated to their “children” and supporting growth through this critical period in their lives. I bring my expertise in building on the strengths of these educators and enhancing their own work with all young children."
