"I share many of the same passions that I hear our members expressing – high quality early care and education for ALL of Ohio’s children, continually working toward professionalism in the Early
Childhood workforce, and more efficient, effective systems within and among the agencies involved in Early Care and Education. Related to those passions, I recognize that having access to good high quality
professional development opportunities as well as employment in good high quality programs are two main important goals for our members. Overall advancement of our profession at all levels is key to achieving our goals for children, families, and for the adults who provide care and education for our youngest citizens.
These are exciting times! In Ohio we have made some great strides, being awarded the Race to the Top Grant, creating our new Early Learning and Development Standards and significant focus now being placed on the critical early learning years. But we have so much more work to do! Now more than ever before, the voice of Early Childhood professionals must be clear and strong. I consider it a privilege to serve on Ohio AEYC’s leadership team as President-Elect during these exciting and challenging times, and I am confident that together we can continue to successfully achieve those goals."
